 Oceanfront facade
This soaring home on the Falmouth waterfront is one of our LEED-certified homes, achieving Gold level in 2009. Designed by Phil Kaplan of Kaplan-Thompson Archtects, it captures stunning views of Casco Bay while simultaneously maximizing solar gain. A solar-assisted heating and hot water system, spray foam and cellulose insulation and careful air-sealing add to the building's energy efficiency, and an imaginative use of metal siding and roofing add to the striking design.
 Kitchen with a view
The site is a previously-developed lot on the waterfront in Falmouth, with incredible views of Casco Bay and Mackworth Island. The house features a radiant floor in the polished concrete slab, a solar hot water system (designed and installed by Revision Energy), and a sun porch that both takes in the view and helps heat the house in cooler weather.
