Presumpscot River Estuary
Our first high-performance home, framed with our now-standard double-stud walls. Still one of our favorites. The inspiration for BrightBuilt Homes’ design, with a simple, low maintenance exterior. The only heat source at construction was a radiant slab, fed by a rooftop solar hot water system. The large collection tank feeds both the heat and domestic hot water.
We’ve since converted the attic into an artist’s studio, and added heat pumps to that floor. We were happy to see the walls were in great shape when we tore into them. Rated LEED Platinum.
