Yarmouth New Build
This Arts and Crafts style new build follows the tenets of the Pretty Good House; a high-performance, well-insulated, vented, and airsealed comfortable home, with excellent natural and interior lighting. The single story house is threshold free, thus well designed for accessibility and aging in place. The complicated roofline was made easier with custom built trusses, and allows for future maintenance within the building envelope.
The Yarmouth house is in a newly developed neighborhood of single family homes on multi-acre lots, abutting a nature preserve. The durable exterior materials should be largely maintenance free. A large solar array feeding a battery back-up will carry the home through stormy weather and winter power outages, and the landscaping ties together the natural green space and surrounding trees.
